AFRAA Events held at Maputo
NIIT Airline Technologies GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of NIIT Technologies, attended an African conference focused on Airlines and Travel in November’09 and there couldn’t be a better platform than the 41st AFRAA (African Airlines Association) Annual General Assembly.
Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM), an existing client of NIIT Airline Technologies GmbH and the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) showed really warm welcome to all the delegates of the 41st Annual General Assembly (AGA) which was held in Maputo, Mozambique on 22 -24 November 2009 at Chissano International Conference Center.

NIIT Airline Technologies, which already has various clients in the African region was represented at the conference by Jatin Anand, Business Development Manager, NIIT Airline Technologies Gmbh and Katharina Pfeiffer, Customer Support Executive, NIIT Airline Technologies Gmbh. Additionally, NIIT Airline Technologies set up a stall in the exhibition area of the conference where the team showcased the products and services offered by NIIT Airline Technologies and enlightened the interested prospects on how our products can help in achieving better results for their processes with reduced costs. Several airlines showed interest in our products and even services companies discussed possible collaboration by leveraging contacts to market products for both the companies.
More than 200 delegates from 30 international airlines, travel industry supplier, media and African government officials travelled to Maputo for this event making it one of the gala events in African region focused on the Airline and Travel industry. The three-day event started with a city tour of Maputo on the first day which was followed by a cocktail and a gala dinner at the backyard of the oldest railway station of Maputo built by Portugese around 100 years ago. The second and third day saw rigorous discussions on the future of the African airline industry and the steps needs to be taken to have better coordination among all African carriers.
The second day ended with a gala dinner and awards presentation ceremony for the nominated individuals from the African Aviation industry. During these two days several resolutions and activities of AFRAA were discussed and it ended with a lunch and a press conference on the last day and post that most of the delegates bid adieu to Maputo and promised to meet each other again next year in a new city for the 42nd AFRAA Annual General Assembly.
